Dear IADS members,

It is a pleasure to welcome you to the IADS Mid-Year Meeting 2027 in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

As our first international congress of the 2026-2027 term, this meeting will set the tone for the months ahead. It will be an opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces, welcome new members and bring our international community together.

This congress also marks a long-awaited return to the Asia-Pacific region. After many years without an IADS international congress in this region, we are delighted to gather in Kazakhstan, strengthen our connections with members across Asia-Pacific and discover the culture and hospitality of our hosts.

Our term marks the third year of the IADS Three-Year Action Plan, dedicated to expansion and implementation. Almaty will provide a place to share our progress, discuss the challenges ahead and turn our plans into concrete opportunities for our members. Your ideas and participation will help shape this work.

Alongside the General Assembly, scientific sessions and workshops, I encourage you to make the most of the encounters that make an IADS congress special. Whether this is your first congress or you have been part of IADS for years, I hope you will leave with new knowledge, lasting friendships and renewed motivation to contribute.
